Is It Healthy… or Just Marketed That Way?

Not all “healthy” labels are created equal. You’ve probably seen terms like “all natural,” “gluten-free,” or “no added sugar” on packaging and wondered what they really mean.

I’m here to help you cut through the marketing buzz with some simple tips I follow every time I shop:

  • Look beyond the front label. Check the ingredients list for hidden sugars, preservatives, and artificial anything.
  • Real food doesn’t have a long ingredient list. If you can’t pronounce it, it’s probably not real food.
  • Be skeptical of “low-fat” or “diet” products. Sometimes they add sugar or other fillers to make up for flavor.
